• The academic schedules of the KNPU start in early March and end in February next year.

  Academic sessions are divided into regular sessions, during which students take courses with credits and seasonal sessions when students take courses without credits and receive field training at police stations.The first and second semesters of the regular session are 16 weeks each, 32 weeks in total for a year.Seasonal sessions are 3 weeks during the summer and 4 weeks during the winter.

• The curriculum of the KNPU is designed to learn all the necessary majors and basic subjects for a bachelor’s degree in law and public administration and for becoming a police executive, and moreover acquire the various skills required for an educated person In the modern society, having the student to earn a total of 174 credits in four years.

• Overview

  The evaluation of the courses is based on the mid-term exams, final exams, and frequent assessments, each accounting for 40%, 40%, and 20% of the total grade, while relative evaluation would be conducted unless notified otherwise. In the case of the relative grades, the top 10~30% of students would receive As, the next 30~50% of students would receive Bs, while grades of C or lower would be given in the range of 20~40%.
  
  Mid-term exams are conducted in the middle of the semester to evaluate what the students have learned depending on the course situation.
  Final exams would be conducted at the end of the semester before/after courses finish to evaluate what the students have learned in overall and would be based on written examinations.
  Frequent assessment refers to the comprehensive evaluation of students' attitudes, understanding, presentation abilities, and submission of assignments. In each course, students who have received grades over D- would be considered to have passed it, while those with an F would be considered to have failed the course. When a student has failed to take the mid-term or the final exams, a supplemental examination would be conducted, and students who have received an F would take a make-up examination for the course.

• Supplemental Examination

  Supplemental exams would be conducted for students who have failed to take mid-term or final examinations for inevitable reasons based on the University Regulation 24. The highest grade students can receive is B- according to the principles and if the student has failed to take the exam for inevitable public matters, he or she can receive the grade of A- at most.

• Make-up Examination

  According to the University regulation 25, make-up exams would be conducted for students who have received a grade of F, and those who have passed the exam would receive a grade of D- at most. Make-up exams are to be held during seasonal sessions or vacations, and although students can apply for make-up exams twice, those who have received an F for the two examinations or have received a grade of F in more than two courses would be expelled.
